Abstract
The decomposition reaction of aliphatic sulfides was carried out in molten salt media employing a flow system. ZnCl2–LiCl, ZnCl2–KCl (or ZnCl2–KCl–NaCl), and ZnCl2–SnCl2 eutectics showed strong activity in decomposition of the sulfide with the predominant formation of olefin corresponding to the alkyl group of the sulfide and the fixation of sulfur as ZnS in the molten salts. Keywords
