Possible Resonance in MuonicW182

Abstract

The possible excitation of nuclear deformation (beta) vibrations in muonic tungsten is described as being due to a near degeneracy between muonic and nuclear states. The model calculations indicate that this effect may be verified by observing the $E2\mathrm{}$ nuclear de-excitation $\gamma$ rays.
