Renal-Failure Anemia and Nitrosourea Therapy

Abstract
To the Editor: We read with interest the article by Harmon and his colleagues1 in the May 24 issue of the Journal describing renal failure in children treated with methyl CCNU. We describe below a patient in whom renal failure developed after prolonged exposure to chlorozotocin, a new nitrosourea with a lesser myelosuppressive effect than BCNU, methyl CCNU or CCNU.In June, 1977, a 45-year-old woman underwent open-lung biopsy that showed bronchoalveolar-cell carcinoma.
