Abstract
AN outbreak of tuberculosis was noted in the fall of 1963 among medical students and employees of a northeastern medical center. Between September, 1962, and March, 1964, 27 cases of tuberculosis were diagnosed in medical students and employees of the medical center by its tuberculosis service, whereas only 1 case had been diagnosed in the preceding two years.This report describes the results of an epidemiologic investigation instituted in late October, 1963, and re-emphasizes the hazard of tuberculosis to medical personnel.SettingLocated in an urban community of 130,000 people, the medical center consists of several autonomous institutions that occupy . . .Keywords
