Abstract
SIMPLE methods for the qualitative and roughly quantitative determination of serum acetone have been known for some time.1 Duncan,2 , 3 particularly, has pointed out the value of these simple tests in the early diagnosis and treatment of diabetic acidosis. Perhaps because of their very simplicity, the tests have failed to gain the wide recognition they deserve.
