Abstract
Compositional regions of single icosahedral phase in three melt-quenched ternary alloys, Mg-Al-Zn, Mg-Ga-Zn and Mg-Al-Cu, have been determined by X-ray analysis. The results are generally consistent with the structural model by Henley and Elser with respect to the atomic size and composition ratios. Keywords
