Abstract
Samples of bovine fraction VI showing a marked ability to depress the conversion ratio in rats were examined more closely. By careful determination of iodine content, they were shown to contain no protein bound iodine. The possibility that depressant activity was due to either Versene (edetic acid) or heavy metal ion, present as impurity, was discounted. Keywords
