Abstract
The minimum requirement of pantothenic acid for maximum growth of young chicks receiving a purified diet was estimated to be approximately 900 µg per 100 gm of diet. Analyses of the livers for pantothenic acid showed that liver concentration of this vitamin was a less sensitive criterion of deficiency than was growth. Since it is likely that foods contain varying amounts of unavailable pantothenic acid, the value obtained with a purified diet is considered as a near minimum estimate of the requirement. Keywords
