Abstract
The drift velocities of electrons in cesium vapor have been measured for values between 0.8 and 20V/cm×Torr at temperatures between 566 and 725°K. The data were obtained from electron transit-time measurements using a pulsed-discharge technique. By obtaining differential transit times, injection and endeffect errors were minimized. The general variation of the drift velocity with was found to be comparable to that previously observed for some of the noble gases.
