Abstract
Exact solutions to the classical time-dependent linear bioheat equation, in one-dimensional multi-region Cartesian, cylindrical and spherical geometries with temperature-invariant physiological parameters, are derived and computationally evaluated. Earlier work is extended to accommodate transient heat sources and boundary conditions using the method of multi-region Green's functions. These solutions enable the study of transient temperature behaviour in an arbitrary number of coupled physiologically distinct regions, when regional heating rates and/or external temperatures vary with time. Keywords
