PHYSIOLOGICAL INTERACTION OF CORTISONE ACETATE AND DIETHYLSTILBESTROL. LACK OF ANDROGENIC OR ESTROGENIC EFFECTS OF CORTISONE ACETATE1

Abstract
Cortisone acetate in large doses, e.g., 50 mg. daily, is neither androgenic nor is it an antagonist to testosterone propionate with respect to the secretion of prostatic fluid of the dog. Cortisone acetate is likewise non-estrogenic and does not increase the uterine wt. of the castrate immature female rat. When admd. in conjunction with diethylstilbestrol, it partially suppresses the stimulating effect of this estrogen on the uterus.
