Abstract
The active hyperlipemia-inducing constituent of the dialysate obtained from the plasma of horses given cortisone was crystallized and tentatively identified as a peptide. Injections of 0.02 [mu]g of crystalline material/kg intravenously induced marked hyperlipemia in intact mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs, and humans as well as in hypophysectomized or adrenalectomized rats. The animals used in these studies were exposed to potential hepatotoxic agents. Keywords
