Abstract
Lipolytic activity of mammalian lung tissue was demonstrated in the rabbit either by incubating minced tissue samples with substrate or by perfusing the whole organ with a mixture of triglycerides in saline. The enzyme involved in the lipolytic process has the characteristics of a lipoprotein lipase. No evidence was found that plasma lipoprotein lipase activity is increased by perfusion through the lung.Keywords
