Abstract
The diurnal trypsin inhibitor excretion in urine was estimated in 71 non-pregnant women, in 149 women in different weeks of pregnancy and in 7 women 4 weeks post-partum. The average curve showed an increase until the 32d week of pregnancy. In the 12th and 13th weeks, small decreases were observed. The curve of the concentration in plasma of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids during pregnancy found by Birke et al. resembles the curve of trypsin inhibitor excretion. It is suggested that the changes in the trypsin inhibitor excretion during pregnancy are caused by the changes in the concentrations of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids in the blood. Keywords
