Abstract
NaF increases the O2 uptake of washed suspensions of BCG. The effect is greatest at pH 6, least at pH 7.8. At pH 6 the oxidation of lactate and pyruvate is greatly increased by fluoride, whereas that of sugars and fatty acids including acetate is inhibited. Growth at pH 6 is inhibited by fluoride and lactate increases this inhibition.Keywords
