Magnetic Moment of 72-DayCo58by Paramagnetic Resonance

Abstract
The microwave paramagnetic resonance hyperfine structure of 72-day Co58 has been observed at 20°K and 3-cm wavelength in a single crystal of (Zn,Co)K2 (SO4)2·6D2O. From the spacing of the hfs lines relative to those of Co59, we find for the magnetic moment |μ(Co58)|=4.052±0.011 nm, neglecting hfs anomalies. The pattern of lines is consistent with the previously known spin I=2.
