Abstract
In 57 human subjects the value for mean non-Hb Fe, obtained from detns. of O capacity and total blood Fe under various conditions, was 22 [plus or minus] 1.74 mgm. %, or 5.3 [plus or minus] 3.9% of the mean total blood Fe. Because non-Hb Fe varies widely and is usually a significant fraction of total blood Fe, detns. of total blood Fe cannot be used as an accurate measure of Hb.This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
