Abstract
The estrus cycle ceased in alloxan diabetic female rats and was restored by the admn. of insulin. Of 13 untreated diabetic animals, which were bred before the estrus cycle ceased, 4 produced litters. Insulin-treated diabetic animals reproduced in spite of a continuing hyperglycemia. Transient hyperglycemia did not interfere with reproduction and diabetes in the mother did not result in hyperglycemia in the offspring in the few animals tested. Keywords
