Abstract
A FM mode‐locked Nd0.5La0.5P5O14 laser excited by a cw dye laser has been constructed. The 1052‐nm laser pulses, occurring at a 480‐MHz repetition rate, had widths as short as 14 ps, determined by a correlation measurement. With appropriate detuning of the cavity round‐trip interval, uniform amplitude FM output was obtained, with bandwidth up to 240 GHz.Keywords
