Histochemical Studies in Atherogenesis: Human Aortas

Abstract
There have been many conflicting reports concerning the relationships of lipid, acid mucopolysaccharides, and elastic changes in the early pathology of atherosclerosis. Various new histochemical methods have been applied to grossly normal and early lesions of aortas of 50 individuals ranging from fetuses to 40 years of age with a view to illuminating these problems. The following paper presents our results of these studies.Keywords
