Energies and Decay Modes ofNe19States: Energies of First Excited States ofNe21,Na21, andMg22

Abstract

The energies and $\gamma$-decay modes of the lowest six energy levels of ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{19}$ were investigated with the aid of Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) $\gamma$-ray detectors. ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{19}$ levels were populated by the ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{20}({\mathrm{He}}^3, \alpha ){\mathrm{Ne}}^{19}$ reaction. Measurements were made of the energies of the first excited states of ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{21}$, ${\mathrm{Na}}^{21}$, and ${\mathrm{Mg}}^{22}$. These states were also formed by reactions initiated by ${\mathrm{Ne}}^{20}$+${\mathrm{He}}^3$.
