Untersuchungen über Fermente des menschlichen Blutes, XII. Die Rolle einer Arylesterase-Fraktion aus Leber im menschlichen Fettstoffwechsel

Abstract
A large number of arylesterases were isolated from human liver by column chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex. One of the esterases (about 20% of the total liver arylesterases) transecterifies short chain aromatic fatty esters for long chain aromatic fatty acids. This explains the transport of higher fatty acids of the dietary fat from the cleavage organs (lung, heart etc.) to the liver. The role of the other arylesterases of human liver remains unexplained.
