Abstract
The results of feeding sodium dextro-thyroxine to white leghorn cockerels and pullets indicate: A lowering of serum cholesterol significantly in birds fed a cholesterol enriched diet. Interference with endogenous androgen metabolism if excessive amounts are given. Possible synergism with endogenous androgen is suggested by one series. Enhancement of the activity of exogenous testosterone in stimulating secondary sex characteristics of pullets is shown in series E., F., and G.Keywords
