Abstract
The stability of the log doseresponse relationship for luteinizing hormone activity (LH) was examined by 3 different bioassay methods using a variety of standard test substances. Stability of slope and level (intercept) was determined by the conventional F tests after the exclusion of excessively large error variances. Both the ventral prostate repair method (HRP) and the ovarian ascorbic acid-depletion method (OAAD-Munson modification) yielded stable slopes with all standards on repetitive testing. A stable intercept was also obtained by the HRP method for ovine luteinizing hormone (NIH-LH-S1). The OAAD method is recommended where greater sensitivity is required. Keywords
