Abstract
The preparation of protaminase from pancreas rested on the special affinity of the proteinase to genuine protein substances. The action of this protaminase, as described earlier (Zeitschrift-Physiol. Chem. 197, 219 (1931)), consisted in the splitting off of basic building stones from proteins and peptones. From a peptidase-free mixture of both enzymes, only the proteinase was precipitated upon addition of acetone in the presence of egg albumin. The proteinase remained in the residue after treatment with 30% acetone. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
