Abstract
Systems analysis can play a central role in the development of efficient and equitable acid rain abatement strategies. Toward that end, deterministic, stochastic. multiobjective and hybrid system analytic optimization techniques are discussed, with emphasis placed upon: their basic mechanics; the characteristics of the information they require and provide; their limitations; and. their utility as policy-making tools, all in an acid rain-related context.
