Large-pTproduction ofD-wave quarkonium states at hadron colliders

Abstract

Large-$p_T$ production of $D$-wave quarkonium states is calculated, using a covariant formalism for the bound states. It is shown that, contrary to the case of $P$ waves, $D$-wave production is not an important source of $\frac{J}{\psi }$ and $\Upsilon$ production at large $p_T$.
