Abstract
The encephalitogenic activity of proteolipid A and B depends on the chemical combination of the constituent protein and lipid. If the bond between them is split by means of desiccation the resultant is inactive as are the separated protein and lipid fractions themselves. Of 4 fractions deriving from chloro-form-methanol extraction of mouse brain, only proteolipid A and B was encephalitogenic. Keywords
