Estimates of charm production in exclusive neutrino reactions

Abstract
We present calculations of the cross sections for two types of exclusive charm-production reactions: the quasielastic processes νNμ(C0, C1, C1*) and the single-pseudoscalar-meson production processes νNμK(C0, C1) and ν¯Nμ+D¯(Λ, Σ). With a set of reasonable assumptions we find that the ratio of the cross section for these exclusive channels to the inclusive noncharm cross section is ∼4% for neutrinos and ∼3% for antineutrinos.
