Abstract
Satisfactory separation of fatty acids is obtained by Amberlite IRC 50 column chromatography. The solvent mixtures of methylethylketone[long dash]acetone[long dash]water (1:3:4) and (1:2:9) are used as effluants to separate from acetic to lauric acid and from formic to caproic acid, respectively. Recoveries ranged from 82 to 105%, except for formic acid (65-70%).
