Nuclear Structure ofNa22. III. Spins and Parities from the Linear Polarization of Gamma Rays

Abstract

The linear polarizations of some $\gamma$ rays resulting from the $\alpha$ bombardment of ${\mathrm{F}}^{19}$ have been measured. From these results, spins and parities of levels in ${\mathrm{Na}}^{22}$ have been assigned or verified as follows: 0.891 MeV (${\mathrm{J}}^{\pi }=4^{+}$), 1.528 MeV ($5^{+}$), 1.937 MeV ($1^{+}$), 2.211 MeV ($1^{-}$).
