Abstract
Liquid air fixation of fresh mouse brain always gives a low lactic acid content. The amount of lactic acid formed on anaerobic incubation depends on the blood sugar level at death, up to blood-sugar values of some 200 mgm. per 100 cc. At higher blood-sugar levels there is a smaller increase in lactic acid in proportion to the increase in blood-sugar. At blood-sugar levels at which hypoglycemic symptoms occur, the (resting) brain lactic acid level is low. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
