Abstract
A plausible estimate of the strength of the Kπ vertex is made, consistent with the rate of K3π decay as well as with independent estimates based on current algebra and partially conserved axial-vector current (PCAC), on the one hand, and a dynamical model of hyperon decays on the other. The implications of this value for the Kπ vertex on related K-meson processes of current interest are discussed. The results are consistent with the octet transformation property of the strangeness-changing weak nonleptonic interaction.
