Abstract
A simple quantitative reaction for iodinated amino acid spots on paper- chromatograms is described. The method is a modification of the Ferric chloride, (potassium) FerricCyanide, Arseneous acid reaction (F.F.C.A.). This modified reaction has the advantages: (1) The spots obtained are well defined and well contrasted against the background. (2) Qualitative and quantitative determinations can be done simultaneously at any time. (3) The approximate sensitivity range for thyroxine is between 0.1-0.005 [mu]g. (4) More than thirty determinations can be done in 7-8 hours.
