Abstract
The following compounds were tested for depressor activity in metacorticoid (post-DCA) hypertensive rats: testosterone and its 11[beta]-OH and 11=O derivatives, adrenosterone, androstenedione, and its 11[beta] -OH derivative. Results indicated that replacement of the 11-OH by -H or =O appeared to decrease the activity of the 17-ketosteroids and increase that of the 17-hydroxysteroids. The depressor activity could not be related to anabolic or androgenic activity.
