Elektrophoretische Untersuchungen an Schlangen- und Insektentoxinen

Abstract
The poison gland secretions of numerous snakes was tested with paper strip electrophoresis after Grassmann and Hannig and proved to be composed from a number of separable components, some of which could be adjoined to enzymatic actions (proteolysis, lecithinolysis, direct hemolysis and inhibition of egg yolk coagulation.) Curiously the preparations from Colubrides contained mostly basic components, while poison secretions of Viperides migrated chiefly anodically at pH 8.6.
