Primary Mycotic Aneurysm of the Aorta

Abstract
This case report discusses an autopsied case of an arteriosclerotic aneurysm of the aorta secondarily infected by Salmonella Group C 2. Organisms were isolated from postmortem blood in pure culture and were identified in aortic tissue by immunofluorescent staining techniques. The nomenclature and pathogenesis of mycotic aneurysms are discussed.
