Biochemische Vorgänge bei der Reticulocyten-Reifung: Auftreten und Abklingen des Reticulocyten-Hemmstoffes

Abstract
The appearance and disappearance of the heart muscle succinoxidase inhibitor was studied during the regeneration phase following development of anemia either by means of bleeding or by injection of phenyl hydrazine. Samples were removed daily, and the inhibitor activity correlated with hematocrit readings and reticulocytosis. Maximal inhibitor activity was found after about 9 days and remained high for 5-7 days; it was still demonstrable after 4 weeks. In animals given phenyl hydrazine the inhibitor is formed more slowly and to a lesser degree. Results are discussed in relation to the processes taking place during the maturation of erythrocytes.
