DIE HEMMUNG DER CORTICOTROPIN-SEKRETION DURCH STEROIDE

Abstract
The increased secretion of corticotropin following removal of 1 adrenal in rats was found to be suppressed by cortisone, hydrocortisone and cortexone, but not by 17-[alpha]-hydroxyprogesterone, pregnan-21-ol-3,20-dione or dehydroepiandrosterone. Animals which have received cortisone are insensitive to corticotropin. This effect is also found in hypophysectomized animals.
