Wave-Vector-Dependent Susceptibility atT>Tcin a Dipolar Ising Ferromagnet

Abstract
The singular behavior of the susceptibility χT(Q) near wave vector Q=0, which is characteristic of long-range dipolar interactions, has been observed in a neutron-scattering study of LiTbF4. Quantitative agreement with mean-field theory is obtained at temperatures 2<TTc<10. In a rather broad critical region, 0.01<TTc1<1, the divergent part of χTQ follows a power law χT(Qx0)χT0=C(1TcT)γ with C=1.25±0.13 and γ=1.13±0.06.
