Abstract
SUMMARY: The metabolic effects of cortisone in mice were shown to vary widely with the dose employed. At a high dose level (12 mg./kg.) cortisone produced a negative nitrogen balance and loss of weight when food intake was constant. At a lower dose (5 mg./kg.) mice maintained nitrogen equilibrium and increased their total body fat when food intake was constant. Keywords
