Abstract
Young cf monkeys (Macaca mulatta) usually exhibit a creatinuria and show impaired creatine retention. Testosterone propionate abolishes the creatinuria and enhances creatine retention. Mature animals may or may not exhibit a creatinuria, but retain exogenous creatine. Castration results in an increased creatinuria and impaired creatine retention. Injs. of testosterone propionate restore the pre-operative condition. Estrogen therapy is without effect. None of the procedures performed had any effect on the level of creatinine excretion. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
