Abstract
Quantitative studies on the distribution ratio of bromide ion between serum and spinal fluid revealed that, in dogs, the value of the distribution ratio Br- s: Br- sp. fl. varied in an inverse manner to the serum bromide conc. At serum bromide levels of 1-10 mM Br/Kg H2O the avg. value of the ratio was 1.78; at serum bromide levels of 20 to 50 mM/Kg H2O the avg. value of the ratio was 1.25; and at high serum bromide levels (70 to 95 mM Br/Kg H2O) avg. value of the ratio was 1.09. Reasons for these findings are suggested.
