Abstract
Follicular fluid contains a sulfomucopolysaccharide which is probably responsible for its high viscosity. The latter may help in the various stages of the ovulatory mechanism, such as the escape from the follicle, the protection of the egg cell, and the attachment of the egg to the ovarian surface.Keywords
