A Simple Method for the Production of Anti-C3 Antiserum in Rabbits

Abstract
A method is described for the production of an anti-C3+d specific antiserum in rabbits. The method does not require purification of C3 [complement component 3] but relies on the binding of human C3 to rabbit erythrocytes following activation of the alternative pathway. The antiserum produced is suitable for use as a serological reagent or for immunoprecipitation.
