Abstract
The observed dependence of inclusive single-pion spectra at () and low transverse momenta can be understood in terms of a statistical model that reproduces the main features of large-transverse-momentum phenomena. A simple physical picture for multiparticle production processes is proposed. This picture is compared with recent inclusive experiments on hadron and lepton production.
