Abstract
Ruby lasers of between 10 mm and 75 mm length were operated continuously at room temperature in ellipsoidal pumping systems. Mode selection, relaxation oscillations, mode interaction, and thermal effects are described. CW operation was also studied with external mirrors, in 100 c/s giant pulse emission, and in single-mode emission. A ruby Pulslaser is described, that can be operated in 1 ms pulses at 50 to 120 c/s.Keywords
