Abstract
Degranulation of beta cells of the pancreatic islets and islet hyperplasia have been observed in rats which were force-fed large amts. of high carbohydrate, otherwise balanced,diets for periods of as long as 8 weeks. Glycosuria and, in rare instances, ketonuria occurred.Keywords
