The Coefficient of Thermal Expansion of Magnesium Oxide

Abstract
The thermal expansion of single crystal magnesium oxide has been measured from 85°K to 480°K. The results are combined with those of Austin, so that data are available from 85°K to 1273°K. The observed thermal expansion of this substance is in excellent accord with the relation, due to Grüneisen, between thermal expansion and heat content.Keywords
