Abstract
An hypothesis advances on the origin and identity of the C genome of hexaploid oat species and is based on existing evidence derived from the karyotypes, chromosome pairing in some hybrids, genetic markers in a homologous group, morphology, distribution and cross-compatibility. According to this hypothesis Avena ventricosa ssp. bruhnsiana is the putative donor of the C genome.This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
